The Netbiter® MB100 product connects serial Modbus RTU / ASCII products to Ethernet LAN’s. The Gateway acts a pure transparent connection between serial Modbus products and the standard Ethernet protocol Modbus TCP. Almost any supervisory SCADA software or Ethernet based PLC supports Modbus TCP and therefore an installation can benefit from existing Ethernet cabling at the site.

The Netbiter® MB100 acts as a Modbus RTU/ASCII Master and can connect to several Modbus slave devices. The Modbus TCP side acts as Slave and supports up to 20 simultanously connections. The Netbiter® MB100 has 2 digital inputs that are mapped to Modbus TCP registers. For example, the inputs can be used for detecting alarm inputs from equipment and report to a supervisory system. The configuration is done over Ethernet through onboard web pages in the product and can therefore be managed from a remote location. The configuration is simple and the gateway is up running in minutes.
